DOHA: The 10,000sqm Family Fun indoor entertainment city at Doha Exhibition Centre (DEC) has witnessed 77,000 visitors since it opened three weeks ago, organisers Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) said yesterday.
The fun city is one of the offerings by QTA for the first Qatar Summer Festival which runs for eight weeks across several locations. It features activities and programmes for all ages; from extreme sports for adults to soft play areas for kids.
DEC is split into zones, with games areas ranging from professional skateboarding ramps to bouncy castles, a food court area, and a retail area. There is also a stage for Baraem TV’s plays every weekend, educating children on social values, cooperation and goodwill.
The city is open from 3pm to 11pm on weekdays, and from 2pm to midnight on weekends. Activities are priced between QR5 and QR30.
The festival continues until September 27 and includes Fountain Fun on the Corniche where dancing fountain shows are presented during the week from 7pm to 11pm, Adventure Fun in Al Khor where visitors can take part in outdoor activities from 1pm to 6pm, Splash Fun in Al Wakra where families can enjoy the inflatable Aqua Park on the beach from 3pm to 9pm daily and Shopping Fun in which over QR2.5m in prizes will be given away at major malls. The festival ends with a Disney On Ice show at Qatar National Convention Center from September 24 to 27.
