DOHA: The Ministry of Labour has honoured Director of the International Labour Organization (ILO) Office in Doha Max Tuñón, marking the end of his tenure in the State of Qatar.
Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour H E Sheikha Najwa bint Abdulrahman Al Thani, received Tuñón at the Ministry’s headquarters, where she presented him with a commemorative shield in recognition of his distinguished service and enduring contributions.
Throughout his tenure, Tuñón played a pivotal role in advancing technical cooperation between Qatar and the ILO, strengthening joint programmes in labour and workers’ rights, and promoting the exchange of expertise and innovative practices at both regional and global levels.
The Ministry expressed its deep appreciation for Tuñón’s commitment and leadership, which have left a lasting impact on the progress of labour reforms and international partnerships.
