DOHA: The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, represented by the Department of Da’wah and Religious Guidance, has launched the first-ever summer Quranic course at the Al-Noor Educational Quranic Centre in Izghawa.

The programme, which includes 30 outstanding Qatari students, aims to combine intensive Quran memorisation with spiritual, educational, and recreational activities, offering a holistic development experience over the span of three weeks.

The Al-Noor Centre, under the Ministry’s umbrella, focuses on nurturing young Qatari talent and preparing them for future roles in religious leadership, including positions in imamate, preaching, and religious counselling.

The centre provides a dynamic and interactive educational environment that fosters Islamic values, builds moral character, and enhances students’ talents and life skills.

The summer course is designed to utilise the students’ vacation time in the most effective way, featuring daily memorisation of two new Quranic pages and comprehensive review of previously memorised material.

In addition to its religious core, the programme incorporates practical worship practices, voice training, moral education, and various enrichment activities. Students also benefit from field trips, recreational outings, and even workshops in cybersecurity — ensuring a balanced exposure to both traditional and contemporary knowledge.

Interactive segments include nasheed sessions, Quranic recitations, adhan performance training, and diverse sports activities in the centre’s indoor sports facility, creating a competitive and engaging atmosphere for participants.

Several students praised the Ministry and centre officials for providing a structured and inspiring summer initiative. Fahad Abdulaziz Al-Mansouri, one of the participants, expressed his gratitude said, “Joining this intensive programme helped me significantly increase my Quran memorization. I used to know ten juz’ before, and now, thanks to Allah and the efforts of the instructors, I’ve memorised eleven. I also improved my ability to recite the adhan and developed new vocal skills during the course. The review sessions were especially helpful in strengthening my previous memorisation.”
