Doha, Qatar: Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Interior has announced the commencement of procedures to update the status of holders of all types of expired visas, including visit visas, Umrah, transit, and final exit visas.
The ministry said the decision applies to visas that expired on February 25, 2026, and for those individuals who were unable to depart due to the current circumstances affecting the region.
Under the new directives, visa holders may apply for extension of visas upon request from the sponsor, until April 18, 2026, upon payment of the prescribed fees electronically via the Absher platform.
In addition, the ministry has allowed holders of expired visas to leave directly through international ports without extending their visas or paying any fees or penalties.
The Ministry stressed on the importance for beneficiaries of these directives to depart before April 18, 2026, to avoid penalties and legal procedures under the Kingdom’s regulations.
