Doha, Qatar: Qatar’s men’s beach volleyball prowess will be under spotlight once again when the dynamic pair of Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan will be in action at the upcoming World Beach Volleyball Championship - Mexico 2023 from October 6-15.
Fresh off their spirited participation in the Hamburg Elite16 round where they bowed out in the quarter-finals of the fiercely contested competition, the Tokyo 2020 bronze winners will aim to secure their spot among the beach volleyball elite at the World Championship.
Cherif and Ahmed currently stand tall as the third-ranked team in the world, amassing an impressive tally of 6580 points. This remarkable position is the result of their exceptional performance across 11 tournaments and world tours in recent times.
Towering above them in the rankings are the Norwegian favorites Moll and Sorum, who hold the lead with a commanding 9300 points.
Meanwhile, history is being made as Qatar’s women’s team prepares to make their debut appearance at the Al Alamein World Beach Volleyball Championship. This prestigious tournament, presented as one of the illustrious world tours by the international federation, kicked off in Alexandria, Egypt, yesterday.
