Doha: Qatargas has categorically denied speculations in media reports and on social media concerning its sponsorship of Al Hilal Football Club in Saudi Arabia.
There is no truth whatsoever in the reports saying the company is engaged in talks with any sports club, Qatargas said in a statement yesterday, adding reports suggesting otherwise are rumours.
The company reiterated that no negotiations are going on and there have been no talks.
Many social media activists have spread over the past few days images of Al Hilal jerseys bearing Qatargas logo.
The images appear to be false, said a company spokesman, denying that any sponsorship contract has been made with the club.
Qatargas is proud of accomplishments made by Gulf and Arab sports clubs; however, its corporate social responsibility programme mostly covers health, safety, education and sports activities within Qatar.
As is the practice, the company will announce its signing of any agreement or contract with other parties through its official channels, the statement added.
