Amir, Pakistani Prime Minister discuss bilateral relations and Ras Laffan incident developments

Doha, Qatar: The Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani made a telephone call on Wednesday with the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan HE Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif. 

At the outset of the call, HH the Amir expressed his sincere condolences and sympathy to HE the Pakistani Prime Minister over the victims of the explosion at an industrial facility in Ras Laffan, which resulted in the deaths and injuries of a number of Pakistani nationals, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.

For his part, HE the Pakistani Prime Minister expressed his deep gratitude and appreciation to HH the Amir for his heartfelt sentiments, praising the support and medical care provided by the State of Qatar to the injured as well as the efforts of the relevant authorities in responding to the incident.

Both sides expressed their solidarity with the families of the victims, affirming the two countries' firm commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of their friendly peoples.

During the call, bilateral relations between the two countries were also discussed, in addition to developments in the region and the memorandum of understanding between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran. 

In this regard, the Pakistani Prime Minister praised the efforts of the State of Qatar in promoting regional security, peace and stability, expressing his appreciation for the efforts it is making in supporting security and stability in the region.
