DOHA: The Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) celebrated the 2022 International Olympic Day with an amazing event that took place at the 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic And Sports Museum in Doha yesterday.
Team Qatar stars Ashraf Amgad El Seify, Abdulla Al Tamimi and Mubaraka Al Nuaimi attended the event, which also saw a wide-scale participation from Schools Olympic Program students and athlete Development Pathway (Be an Athlete).
The QOC organised a number of tours and activities to shed lights on the museum sections, to showcase the history of sports worldwide, history of Olympic Games, Qatar’s most prominent sport events and top influencing athletes in the world.
Additionally, the museum’s dynamic activities section was opened for public to showcase more than 18 dynamic and interactive activities to help increasing participants’ mental and sports skills. The Olympic Day aims to encourage young age groups category to exercise the sports, learn and explore more about them, in a way that will promote the Olympic movement and instill its values into the community, a matter that shapes IOC’s most important message to everyone in this event.
On this occasion, the Sport Affairs Department Director Khaleel Ibrahim Al Jaber said: " The QOC will remain keen to celebrate all IOC’s annual sport occasions and will spare no effort to bring the community together to mark this amazing day annually, exercise sports and explore a healthier lifestyle of life throughout sport”.
“We will leave no stone unturned to make this Olympic Day message reaching every single person, we truly believe that sport has the power of peace to unify people and speak to them with the language they understand,” Al Jaber added.
