Doha: President of the Republic of Slovenia H E Borut Pahor visited yesterday the Shura Council within the framework of his official visit to the country.
The Slovenian President was welcomed in the Shura Council by Speaker of the Shura Council H E Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim and a number of the Council members.
During the meeting, the Speaker of the Shura Council welcomed President Borut Pahor, hailing his visit to the Council. He praised the depth of relations between the two friendly countries and peoples, stressing that the President’s visit to the country will contribute to developing these relations in various fields.
For his part, the President of the Republic of Slovenia valued the relations between the two friendly countries and peoples, expressing his happiness to visit the Shura Council. He praised the success of the first legislative elections for the Shura Council, which were held in October. Also, he stressed the important role of parliaments in bringing countries and peoples together and in defence of just issues.
