He said, “We are proud to have celebrated the graduation of 1,564 Qatari students over the past 8 years, amongst whom we hope to see future leaders who will take Qatar Petroleum to more successes.”
Al Kaabi told the graduates that they are joining Qatar Petroleum at a time when it is expanding its international footprint with its international partners in countries like Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, South Africa, Mozambique and Oman.
He said, “A few days ago, we announced a significant gas condensate discovery off the southern coast of South Africa, which is the first discovery in Qatar Petroleum’s international exploration ventures.”
The Minister expressed hope for more discoveries in South Africa and elsewhere, adding that “This and other achievements are an important milestone that reflects the soundness of our strategy on the road to becoming one of the best national oil and gas companies in the word. There is no doubt that you and all our qualified and capable national human resources will play a role in achieving our vision.”
He urged the graduates to place special emphasis on developing themselves, and on working hard to achieve their goals and towards the development of Qatar today and in the future. At the end of the ceremony, the Minister handed certificates of appreciation to all graduates, along with symbolic gifts for outstanding graduates in their fields of specialization.
The ceremony, which was organised by the Learning and Development Department at Qatar Petroleum, included a film in which a number of graduates talked about the reasons for joining Qatar Petroleum and their ambition for the future.
