DOHA: Huge crowds throng the 15th Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition (DJWE) participating in the daily interactive workshops, industry meetings and discussions which run in parallel with the show.

DJWE 2018 is presenting a wide variety of daily activities, to suit all interested visitors. These activities include a complimentary daily fine jewellery workshop led by master craftsman showcasing the delicate art of making jewellery. Attendees are dazzled as they experience the three stages during the one-hour sessions that allow participants to learn how to bring life to their paintings using watercolours and create designs using wax, and finally the precise creation of metals and gems.

Visitors are eagerly attending the daily DJWE Majlis Talks that host informal discussions for people from the local community. The talks are being held by Geoffroy Ader, Watch Expert and Head of Paris auction house, Artcurial, and have already been positively received by passionate collectors and visitors on topics such as; ‘Collecting Vintage Watches at Auction,’ ‘Patek Philippe; King of the Auction Market,’ and today’s session on ‘Collecting Vintage Sports Wristwatches.’

For those interested to attend the free Majlis Talks, tomorrow’s discussion will be on ‘Chopard & Ferdinand Berthoud’ and finally on Monday, ‘The Art of Jewelry in Watches.’ In addition, Artcurial is also providing watch collectors with daily free consultations.

Through popular demand, the French watchmaking expert Objectif Horlogerie has also returned to DJWE to host complimentary daily watchmaking sessions, offering enthusiastic attendees a diploma into the precision and complexity of handcrafting timepieces. A total of 120 people have already participated and taken home their desirable new qualification, encouraging others to preregister for the remaining days of the event.

This year’s edition is also offering a new bespoke workshop by Objectif Horlogerie where 15 people have been offered the chance to assemble a bespoke Swiss watch, especially designed by experts for DJWE. The limited-edition timepieces carrying the DJWE logo and the Qatari flag, with sapphire glass and 42mm caliber, and is equipped with Swiss automation mechanic and presented in a special leather case clasp of Qatari flag colours.
