Doha: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry, in cooperation with the Ministry of Labour, has announced a price cap for domestic worker recruitment from different countries.
The price ranges from QR 9,000 for domestic workers from Kenya and Ethiopia to QR 17,000 for workers from Indonesia.
The price cap on the recruitment of domestic workers shall be set as follows:
Indonesia: QR 17,000
Sri Lanka: QR 16,000
Philippines: QR 15,000
Bangladesh: QR 14,000
India: QR 14,000
Kenya: QR 9,000
Ethiopia: QR 9,000
“All competent authorities, each within its own jurisdiction, shall implement this decision which shall come into force from the day following the date of its publication in the Official Gazette,” ministry
