118 people recover from Covid-19 in Qatar on Jan 24

Doha: Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) today reported 247 new cases of coronavirus (Coivd-19) and 118 people recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of people recovered in Qatar to 144,740.

Out of the 247 new cases, 214 are community cases and 33 from travellers returning from abroad.

Till now 248 people succumbed to the virus in Qatar, which is one of the lowest in the world.

The total number of positive Covid-19 cases recorded in Qatar is 149,019 and there are 3,913 active cases under treatment. 

5,153 people were tested for the first time in the last 24 hours (12,515 tests in total) taking the total tests done so far to 1,352,784 tests.

There are 37 cases of hospital admissions in the last 24 hours taking the total number of patients in the hospital to 370.

Six were admitted to intensive care in the last 24 hours, and so 36 people continue to receive medical attention in ICU.

While the restrictions of COVID-19 are gradually being lifted in Qatar, it is important for everyone to play their role in controlling the virus by following precautionary measures:
- Adherence to physical distancing
- Avoid close contact with others, crowded places, and confined closed spaces where other people congregate
- Wearing a face mask
- Washing hands regularly
