Washington: Nasa has warned two "hazardous" asteroids will hurtle past the Earth today at 20,000 miles per hour.
The space rocks could explode mid-air if they enter our planet's atmosphere.
The resulting blast would be as powerful as the detonation of hundreds of atomic bombs, according to Nasa.
This means the explosion would affect people and buildings on the ground.
Nasa's Center for Near-Earth Object Studies (CNEOS) identified the first asteroid that will approach Earth today as 2019 XP3.
This space rock is about 230ft-wide and is currently speeding towards Earth at a speed of almost 20,000 miles per hour, according to the agency.
The massive space rock - known as 310442 (2000 CH59) - will be monitored as it comes closest to our planet in the early hours of December 26.
