GWC Logistics wins MSC Cricket Challenge Trophy 2019

GWC Logistics  emerged winners in the second  edition of MSC Cricket Challenge Trophy 2019  organised by Mediterranean Shipping Company (Qatar) W.L.L at  MIC Cricket Stadium in Mesaieed, Qatar.  
Final was played between GWC Logistics & defending champions QTerminals. Earlier QTerminals won the toss and elected to bat first and scored 62 runs for 5 wickets in 8 overs setting a target of 63 runs for the opposition. GWC Logistics chased down the target in 6.3 overs and won the match by 7 wickets.  
Geethan Anurudha Joseph of GWC who scored 13 runs and took 2 crucial wickets was named as the man of the match Finals. MSC, the host won against GAC in the contest for 3rd place. 
12 teams participated in the tournament which was played under two groups. There were 26 matches played all together in two days time, which includes 18 league stage matches and 8 knockout matches (including finals, semifinal, losers final and quarter-finals). 167 players, 2454 runs, 1704 balls, 194 wickets,  2 half-centuries explain the intensity on the field and quality of the tournament.     
Imran Khadar of MSC named as the player of the tournament with 679 points. Nadeemul Afsal of GAC emerged as the best bowler with 9 wickets and Nibin Nair of GWC Shipping who scored 118 runs was declared as best batsman of the tournament. Sameesh Syamalan of QTerminals was awarded as the best wicket keeper, while Milan Chittezhath of Hapag Lloyd was nominated for the outstanding catch of the tournament .
Bassem Aly Elgreatly (Supply Chain Manager, Muntajat ), Capt Mrityunjay Dhawal (Chief Operating Officer, QTerminals) & Shammi Mohan (Marketing manager Mwani Qatar) presented the medals and trophies to the Champions, Runners up and 2nd Runners up respectively in the presence of Biju John, GM MSC Qatar, match officials of QCA , participants and  family members.
