Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) will support ‘Made in Qatar 2017’ exhibition as diamond sponsor, announced Qatar Chamber yesterday.
Held under the patronage of the Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the expo is organised by Qatar Chamber, in cooperation with the Ministry of Energy and Industry on December 14 to 17.
Commenting on the signing ceremony, Chief of Tourism Development Sector at QTA, Hassan Al Ibrahim, said that the QTA firmly believes that the tourism experience of visitors should reflect and represent Qatar’s culture, traditions and products.
Out of this belief, QTA is pleased to provide support to Qatari businessmen. It strongly strives to make tourism-related events and exhibitions as platforms for representing local products and enterprises, he noted. Praising the partnership with Qatar Chamber, Al Ibrahim said this sponsorship gives a great momentum to such events, through which the chamber seeks to link the QTA with business owners and contributes to promoting the tourism experience.
Al Ibrahim noted that the QTA and the chamber have close cooperation in various issues, where they joined hands in the launch of the tourism e-licensing system which meets the needs of investors and Qatari market. Al Ibrahim noted that the QTA has a strategic partnership with Qatar Chamber in the issues relating to the private sector and in touristic areas as well.
QTA always supports the expo, Al Ibrahim said, noting that it is one of the most important exhibitions being held in the country as it plays a key role in promoting industry and locally-manufactures products, besides encouraging investment in the industrial sector.
“We are honoured to host the expo in the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center which adopted a strategic plan of hosting major exhibitions.”, he said.
In a statement, QC’s Director-General, Saleh Al Sharqi, highly praised the QTA’s sponsorship the exhibition in its all previous editions and in the ongoing edition which is of particular importance as it is being held under the unfair siege.
