DOHA: The Turkish Ambassador Fikret Ozer yesterday inaugurated the INDEX Qatar 2019 at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC), in the presence of CEOs and prominent business leaders.

The opening of INDEX Qatar 2019 coincided with the launch of the 8th edition of Cityscape Qatar, co-located with the exhibition this year.

Following the opening ceremony, officials from the Qatar National Toursim Council (QNTC) and dmg events Doha visited some of the exhibitors from more than 20 countries including Qatar, Italy, Spain, Turkey, Belgium, China, Oman, France, and Lebanon.

QNTC as the strategic partner has endorsed the event and supported in bringing international buyers to attend the event and explore the opportunities offered in Qatar.

The high-profile three-day event is dedicated to the interior design and fit-out industry, and features thousands of the latest products and solutions to meet the country’s future demand for interior products and services to complete stadia, hotels, and residential units ahead of the FIFA World Cup in 2022 and in support of the Qatar National Vision 2030.

The impressive diversity of exhibits at INDEX Qatar gives visitors access to several highly innovative and unique interior products and services. One such exhibitor is Public Art, which works exclusively on sculpture in public spaces and highlights an interesting combination of landscape, buildings, and humans.

Juanjo Novella, from Public Art said: “We welcome the opportunity to participate in INDEX Qatar 2019. The exhibition is clearly structured, well organised and attracts an exceptional quality of exhibitors and visitors. We look forward to establishing more high-quality contacts with interior design professionals and growing our business network in a competitive market.”

Hande Oguz, international representative of M.O.C Trading and Contracting said: “M.O.C Trading and Contracting had no hesitation in participating in INDEX Qatar. We thank the organisers for their efforts in presenting the exhibition in its evolved format co-located with Cityscape. Through our presence and participation, we expect to have an overview of the current demands arising from Qatar’s mega projects, as we present our specialised products. We are hopeful of establishing business contacts with the key decision-makers in the interior industry in Qatar. It’s what we have come to expect from INDEX Qatar.” MOC Trading & Contracting and their international partners are specialised in designing, manufacturing and installations for mosques, palaces, hotels, villas, and office buildings.

The first day of the Design Talks also kicked off yesterday amidst higher than expected attendance levels, with top speakers well known to the industry. Pallavi Dean, one of the leading interior designers in the Middle East, presented “5 Things We Learned Building an All-Female Design Studio in The Middle East” while Anis Benuina, Design Director for one of the best design and branding firms in Qatar, The Creative Union, presented “Making the Intangible Tangible Through Environmental Graphic Design”.

Among the other talks were “Fairy-Tales About Healthcare Architectural & Interior Design”, and offering a perspective from Russia, host of the 2018 FIFA World Cup, was “Reviewing Our Best Interior Projects from Design to Launch - Including Fresh Experience from Some of the Newest Stadiums in The World”.

INDEX Qatar 2019 is organised by dmg events Doha and endorsed by the QNTC. It will be open to the public from October 22-24 at the DECC.
