Qatar, Greece discuss boosting economic, investment ties

Doha: Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Prime Minister of the Hellenic Republic H E Kyriakos Mitsotakis held an official talks session at the Amiri Diwan yesterday.

During the session, they discussed aspects of developing joint cooperation, especially in the economy and investment fields, and exchanged views on prominent regional and international issues.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs H E Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani; Chief of Amiri Diwan, H E Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani; Minister of State for Energy Affairs, H E Eng. Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi; Minister of Environment and Climate Change, H E Sheikh Dr. Faleh bin Nasser bin Ahmed bin Ali Al Thani; and Adviser to H H the Amir for National Security, H E Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Misnad attended the session.

On the Greek side, Minister of the Environment and Energy, H E Konstantinos Skrekas, and a number of members of the accompanying official delegation attended the session. 

The Amir and the Greek Prime Minister also held a bilateral meeting during which they discussed a number of issues of common interest.

Earlier, the Greek Prime Minister was accorded an official reception ceremony upon his arrival at the Amiri Diwan.

The Amir and the Greek Prime Minister also paid a visit to the 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum.

During the visit, they were briefed on the history and legacy of sports around the world and the Olympic Games, especially the ancient Greek Olympic Games. They also saw sports collectibles from all over the world since the early beginnings of sports.

H H the Amir and the Greek Prime Minister also saw visual displays containing images and information about athletes from different countries, in addition to highlighting the history of the Olympic Games since its inception in Greece.

At the end of the visit, H H the Amir hosted a luncheon banquet in honour of the Greek Prime Minister and the accompanying delegation.
