Doha: The Chairman of the National Human Rights Committee (NHRC) Dr Ali bin Smaikh Al Marri, met here with a delegation from Bahrain’s National Foundation for Human Rights (NFHR) led by its chairman, Dr. Abdul Aziz Hassan Abel, yesterday.
The visit of the Bahraini delegation, which included Dr Ahmed Farhan, the Secretary-General, comes within the context of bilateral talks on means of joint cooperation between the NHRC and NFHR.
During the meeting, the Bahraini delegation briefed Dr Al Marri on the latest preparations and arrangements for the international Conference on the Arab Court for Human Rights due to be held in Manama on May 25 and 26.
The delegation expressed its gratitude to the NHRC for its support for the organisation and success of the conference, which will bring together more than 120 organisations and individuals as well as the Arab League Secretary-General, the Gulf Cooperation Council Secretary- General, the president of the Arab Parliament along with delegations from regional courts and the High Commissioner for Human Rights.
