Doha: The Ramadan football tournament organized by the Mauritanian community concluded yesterday in Doha. Eight teams competed in the tournament with most of them named after ancient Mauritanian cities.
The Kaédi team defeated its rival Boutilimit on penalties after both teams failed to score during full time. The competition, held at one of the stadiums in Um Salal, saw the presence of a large number of Mauritanian community members in Doha.

The tournament, named ‘The Dean's Cup’, is considered the first football tournament of its kind organized by the Mauritanian community in Doha.
One of the organizers commented that the aim of the tournament was to establish sporting activities that bring together members of the community.

“We are planning to organize this tournament every year during the month of Ramadan,” he added.
