The Qatari Businesswomen Association (QBWA) has launched the first edition of QBWA TAKREEM Awards under the auspices of the Qatari Businessmen Association’s Chairman Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani.
QBWA TAKREEM Awards aims to recognise and reward Qatari women who contribute to Qatar’s economy and society through their significant achievements in different fields.
The judging panel is composed of individuals from a wide range of sectors including Mishael Al Ansari, Board Member of QBWA who is also Director of Corporate Communications at Anti-Doping Lab & Managing Partner of Oishi Sushi, Amal Al Aathem, Board Member of QBWA who is also Counselor at the Ministry of Culture and Sports and Chairwoman of 7th Heaven Arts, Evren Sharma, spouse of the British Ambassador to Qatar & Honorary Member of QBWA, Lolwa Al Marri, President of Qatar Women Sports Committee (QWSC), Reem Al Suwaidi, General Manager of Bedaya Center, and Aysha Al Romaihi, Business Development Manager at Qatar Business Incubation Centre (QBIC).
The nominations were made by the judges and the winners were selected after long and thorough consideration. The names of the winners will be revealed next week during an award ceremony which will be co-hosted by the Al Wadi MGallery Hotel in Msheireb Downtown Doha.
QBWA Vice-Chairwoman Aisha Hussein Al Fardan (pictured) said: “We at QBWA believe that recognition is very important and therefore, we launched this initiative which is aimed at identifying and recognising Qatari women who excel in their fields for them to inspire others specially younger generation of women in Qatar to reach their full potential”
QBWA is chaired by Sheikha Al Anood bint Khalifah bin Hamad Al Thani and managed by a number of prominent businesswomen who have a history of success in various businesses from different sectors where they work or manage.
QBWA TAKREEM Award is a new initiative by Qatari Businesswomen Association which aims to recognise and celebrate the outstanding contribution made by women from different fields across Qatar.
