Macary, Al Sahouti win QMA’s season-ending Off Road Races

Nolann Macary and Hamad Al Sahouti won their respective categories in the End Season Off Road Race conducted by the Qatar Motorsports Academy (QMA) on Saturday.

Forty young riders took part in the event, conducted by the QMA which was launched last November.

QMA was launched last November and the organisers have lined up several races for young riders to celebrate the end of the first season.

The races were held under two categories, Flat Track 70cc and 125cc.

After the warm up sessions for each category, the Superpole was conducted to determinate the order of the starting grid for the Superfinal.

In the Flat Track 70cc, the victory was for Macary who completed the 8 laps with a total time of 7:28.847. The French rider who is just eight years old, started in second place in the grid but crossed the checkered flag in front of the 12-year-old Malaysian rider Johann Ameer Zharfan.  The third place in the podium was booked by Australian rider Jim Leo Nikitopoulos.

Qatari rider Al Sahouti, who took the Superpole in the Flat Track 125cc, went on to win his category. The 14-year-old rider did the 12 laps around the track with a total time of 9:09.848. The second place was won by his compatriot Saad Al Harqan while 13-year-old French rider Romeo Poure completed the podium.

Trophies were presented by Khalid Al Remaihi, the Vice President and General Manager of Losail Circuit Sports Club (LCSC), CEO of LCSC, Juan Baquero and Jose Luis Cardoso, Head of QMA).

“I am very happy with the QMA End Season and glad to see that all the riders and their families enjoyed this amazing day. We saw a great improvement of all the children. All of them worked very hard during the season and we saw them competing for first time in a race and enjoying it. I want to thank Dorna Sports SL, Aspire and Ministry of Culture and Sport for their support for the

Academy and I am looking forward to next weekend to see another exciting race with the children in the On Road Track. Also, I want to thank to all the instructors for their great job and to all the families and friends that came to support the young riders,” Al Remaihi said.

The QMA End Season On Road Race will be held on April 26 and 27 under three categories Minimotard 70, Supermotard 125 and MiniGP 110.
