Doha, Qatar: The Sheikh Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Center Mosque witnessed the delivery of the Eid Al-Fitr sermon and prayer in a solemn spiritual atmosphere, in accordance with the procedures and instructions issued by the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs.

Attendance was limited to the mosque’s capacity of nearly 1,000 worshippers, with the prayer conducted inside the indoor area only.

Supplication for the Amir and the nation

The Eid preacher delivered his sermon in English, which included prayers for the success and guidance of Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani as well as for the security personnel and the armed forces in fulfilling their duties. The preacher also emphasized the importance of adhering to instructions and security guidelines.

Continuing obedience after the blessed month

The sermon addressed the profound spiritual meanings of this blessed occasion, stressing the importance of thanking Allah for completing the fasting and night prayers of Ramadan. It highlighted the values of lawful joy, social solidarity, and maintaining family ties that Eid embodies.

It also included customary advice encouraging steadfastness in acts of worship and continuing righteous deeds after the end of Ramadan.

The importance of upholding noble character

The sermon emphasized good morals, tolerance, forgiveness, and strengthening bonds of love among members of society.

The preachers called on attendees to seize this occasion to renew their covenant with Allah and to continue on the path of righteousness, noting that the acceptance of good deeds in Ramadan should serve as motivation to persist in obedience without interruption.
