Doha: Through videos in five different languages, the Ministry of Public Health is creating awareness about the mental health helpline and common early warning signs of a disorder.

The ministry released videos of helpline staff talking in different languages, including Arabic, Hindi, English, Tagalog and Malayalam.

The National Mental Health helpline staff talks about the stressful time that everyone is going through due to Covid-19 and the early warning signs of stress that no longer might be a regular one.

Having problem sleeping, lack of appetite, feeling sad or exhausted all the time or having difficulty concentrating or withdrawing from social network - could be signs of stress outside of regular levels, explains Katja from National Mental Health Helpline in English.

She further goes on to explain the importance of talking to someone, either a close trustworthy person or if need be, the helpline, which is a free and confidential service.

The helpline 16000 is available from 7am to 3pm Saturday to Thursday.
