Participants at the seminar organised by the Police College at the Officers Club of the General Directorate of Civil Defence, yesterday.
A scientific seminar entitled “Methods of Planning for Modern Training in the Security Work System” began yesterday at the Officers Club of the General Directorate of Civil Defence, in the presence of Advisor to the Minister of the Interior and Vice-President of the Supreme Council of the Police College, H E Maj. Gen. Dr. Abdullah Yousuf Al Mal, and a number of officers of the Ministry of Interior.
The seminar, organised by the Police College, represented by the Research and Studies Department, will discuss a number of working papers for a number of ministries in the country. It will deal with four main axes: comprehensive planning for modern security training in accordance with Qatar National Vision 2030, recent trends in security training planning, ways to enhance partnership, modern techniques and international models in planning and obstacles to planning for modern security training.
The Director-General of the Police College, Brigadier Mohammed Abdullah Al Muhana Al Marri, said that organising this seminar reflects the Ministry of Interior’s belief in the importance of modern security planning and training in line with Qatar Vision 2030, which focuses on human development and considering modern security planning and training as a fundamental objective of that vision and a great value for the sustainable development of the security work system. He pointed out in a speech at the beginning of the seminar that the development of methods of committing crime and the emergence of new crimes have led to the need to keep pace with training programs for these developments so that such high-risk crimes can be addressed to all communities and countries, which necessarily requires the development of skills and capacity-building for the Police College candidates and the staff of the Ministry of Interior officers and other ranks.
Al Marri said that the seminar aims to identify the modern strategies in the field of planning for modern security training in the light of Qatar National Vision 2030, as well as to identify the trends, methods, stages and modern requirements in the planning of security training. He also said the seminar comes within the framework of the continuous modernization of the security training planning system, and to identify obstacles and mechanisms to confront them and to enhance cooperation between the concerned parties in this field, and to come out with effective recommendations on upgrading the planning system for modern security training and its applicability on the ground.
