Tehran: The 17th Meeting of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) began yesterday in the Iranian capital Tehran.
Qatar’s delegation to the meeting is led by Minister of Energy and Industry H E Dr Mohammed bin Saleh Al Sada.
The meet was opened by Iran Oil Minister Bijan Zanganeh with participation of Ministers of the Member States and observers of the Forum. The Forum includes in its membership each of Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Iran, Bolivia, Equatorial Guinea, Nigeria, Russia, Trinidad and Venezuela, as well as Iraq and Oman, the Netherlands, Norway, Kazakhstan and Peru as Observers.
The ministerial meeting comes in preparation for the summit of the member states of the gas forum to be held in the Iranian capital tomorrow.
Qatar is scheduled to chair the 18th ministerial meeting in 2016.
