DOHA: Ahli Bank and NCR Corporation (NYSE: NCR), a global leader in omni-channel solutions, yesterday jointly announced that Ahlibank is the first bank in Qatar to deploy Near Field Communication (NFC) enabled transactions via the ATM.
Being the first bank in Qatar to offer contactless card payments to its customers at retail outlets via point-of-sale, Ahlibank has cemented its position as ‘thought leaders’ who is always first in bringing latest innovations in payments technology to the country.
Ahlibank has rolled out NCR’s NFC solution across select ATMs recently, giving its customers the option to simply tap their NFC-enabled card to execute ATM transactions faster and more securely than through traditional card insertion method. In a systematic activation of the service, the facility will be available across the Bank’s ATM network by the end of 2018.
Powered by NCR’s Payments and Transaction Processing solution, Ahlibank’s customers will be able to use their Debit and Credit contactless cards on Ahlibank’s ATM network.
