New York: The Assistant Foreign Minister H E Lolwah bint Rashid Al Khater met with the UN Under-Secretary-General and High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries, and Small Island Developing States, Rabab Fatima, on the sidelines of the 77th UN General Assembly in New York.
During the meeting, they reviewed bilateral relations between Qatar and the UN as well as several issues of common interest.
The Assistant Foreign Minister stressed the importance of joint cooperation in women's and education issues, referring to Qatar's leading role in the fields of education and women's role.
The UN Under-Secretary-General expressed thanks and gratitude to Qatar for its anticipated hosting of the second part of the 5th UN Conference on the Least Developed Countries from March 5–9, 2022. She also stressed the UN's aspiration for the effective participation of the private sector in the development agenda.
