Al Sadd resumed training yesterday, following a 2-1 win over Umm Salal in the QNB Stars League Round 4 game.

The result kept the Wolves in third position with nine points.

The team are now preparing for their next league game, the postponed Round 3 clash with Al Sailiya, which is set to be played on September 24 at Al Janoub Stadium.

Yesterday’s session saw the players who had appeared in the game against Umm Salal undergo recovery training, while the rest of the players worked on physical and technical drills.

The team will resume training tomorrow after a rest day today.

Meanwhile, Al Sadd head coach Xavi Hernandez expressed his happiness after his side’s 2-1 win over Umm Salal, while admitting that the performance was below their best..

Speaking at the post-match press conference, Xavi said: “I am very happy with this win. We played against a strong team. I am pleased with the result, but not the performance. It is natural for the players’ levels to drop after the Champions League game.”
