SEK International School Qatar was established in 2013 in the heart of West Bay as part of the Qatari Ministry of Education's Outstanding Schools Programme. It is part of the SEK Education Group, founded in 1892, which brings together leadership, teaching innovation and over 130 years of tradition and history.

SEK-Qatar is an IB World School authorised to offer the Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP).
