Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) has awarded more than 110 ‘Misk Account’ holders during the past 25 weeks, with weekly winners taking home QR10,000 and monthly winners bagging QR50,000 each.
In a press statement, QIB said that 171 more savers will soon win the weekly prizes, and one fortunate winner will be receiving the grand prize worth QR1m.
The bank has also announced this month’s winners, namely: Nasser Al Malki and Salah Al Mughalles. The draw was recently held in the presence of an official representative from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and QIB representatives.
QIB’s digitalisation approach has allowed existing customers to open a ‘Misk Account’ through the award-winning QIB Mobile App. The app enables customers to get access to direct saving accounts by removing the hassle of a physical visit to a QIB branch.

Misk is a tailored Sharia’-compliant savings account which rewards positive financial habits. At QIB we recognize the importance of savings and we want to enlighten our customers and present them the benefits of saving for their future. I encourage all Misk Account users to save more and increase their chances of being chosen as one of the lucky winners”.
He added that all citizens and residents in Qatar are eligible to open a Misk Account for themselves and their children who have not reached legal age. A minimum of QR5,000 for new customers and QR2,000 for existing customers is required to open the account.
Customers will need to maintain a minimum monthly balance of QR10,000 to be eligible for the weekly and monthly draws. To qualify for the grand prize draw, the customer must open the account three months prior to the final draw and maintain a minimum saving amount of QR10,000 during each of these months. Every additional QR10,000 earns the customer one more chance in the draw.
When opening a Misk Account, customers will also receive a free debit card, a free e-statement, and access to QIB’s new Mobile Banking App and the internet banking platform, QIB also said.
