Action during the final of the Workers Football Tournament organised by Galfar Al Misnad Engg. & Contg. WLL.
Doha: Qatari citizens and its residents celebrate National Sport Day every year with pride. An array of events and activities were held across the country to celebrate the National Sport Day 2023, where citizens and expatriates participated in.
Amidst all these events to mark this special Occasion, Galfar Al Misnad Engg. & Contg. WLL organised a football tournament for its blue collar employees at Cambridge Girls School, Al Hilal campus which witnessed eleven vibrant teams from different camps showcasing their sportsmanship.
Each team consisted of seven players and the duration of each game was 20 minutes. The tournament was witnessed by the senior management team along with large number of company employees who supported and cheered up their teams.

Final match between City Blaster and Gorkhali GF drove exhilarating as both the teams scored 2 Goals each. At the end of the penalty shootout City Blaster won the game (2-2 (4- 3).
Executive Director, Satish G. Pillai and Head QHSE Navaneetha Shetty handed over the trophies, medals and cash prizes to the winners and runners-up along with Project Manager Arumugam.
Aparna P Krishna, Dy Manager - Human Resource, said: "We are happy to see employees sportsmanship spirits and enthusiasm and this makes us bring more such initiatives in the future.”
“We believe in our Employee’s potential and these events bring out the unforeseen skills of our workforce and we are really proud of it,” said Executive Director Pillai, while addressing the players after the prize distribution.
He also praised the players for their dedication and laudable performances.
