Stunning Spirit and the team mambers celebrate after winning yesterday's feature race.
Doha: Stunning Spirit, ridden by Mickael Barzalona clinched the Irish Thoroughbred Marketing Cup (QA Gr 2) to bag the top prize of the day at the Al Rayyan racetrack on the second day of the Amir Sword Festival, yesterday.
The Le Haras De La Gousserie 6-year-old bay horse, trained by Frederic Rossi, was in the front right from the beginning while Marianafoot, with Pierre-Charles Boudot in the saddle, stormed ahead in the last stretch to finish second.
The winner grabbed the $200,000 prize cheque and received the trophy from Irish Ambassador to Qatar, H R Aidan Cronin.
