Beautiful football, exciting matches - which feature some big names - at amazing stadiums are some of the parameters which drive horde of fans to matches.

The QNB Stars League (QSL) having achieved the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) award for the second best league in Asia want to enhance the fan experience as they aspire to be one of the top leagues in two years time.

“The next couple of years we want to enhance the fan experience and we want to make it better for everyone to enjoy those matches as much as possible. We have amazing weather, we have amazing facilities this offers a great opportunity for families to come and enjoy that,” said Ahmed Khellil Abbassi, Executive Director of Competitions and Football Development, QSL.

Abbassi said QSL’s plan is to reach more communities and fans based in Qatar.

“We want to reach out to the people, to share with them these exciting times to happen as we are heading towards 2022. We have exciting matches, beautiful football, amazing stadiums and really invite everyone to come and enjoy those matches and those victories and cheer for their teams and their players,” he added.

“We have a lot of international players from all over the world. We have over 20 different nationalities and this shows the diversity of our league and also our society," he said.

"We’re working heavily on improving attendance. And this year we have seen an improvement, which basically came also with the improvement of the clubs. So we’re seeing attractive football, big stars and exciting matches which end in close finishes,” he added.
