Carlo Biado lost his World 9-Ball title yesterday when he lost to  German rival Joshua Filler in the final of the 2018 World 9-Ball Championship in Doha.

At the Al Arabi Sports Club, the 35-year-old from The Philippines, Biado settled for the runner-up prize of $20,000 as he failed to become the second back-to-back world 9-ball champion since Earl Strickland did it in 1990 and 1991.

The champion, 21-year-old Filler won his first major title as he took home the top prize of $40,000.

Biado lost steam in the final match and found himself trailing against Filler in the race-to-13 finals, 9-7, after 16 racks.

He rallied to take the next four racks to cut the deficit, 11-10.

But after that, Filler ran the next racks to topple the Filipino star.

The tournament was organised by the Qatar Billiard and Snooker Federation (QBSF)
