Ooredoo announced yesterday a new feature for its Ooredoo Money service, to enable customers to top-up for their family and friends’ phone and entertainment services abroad.
With the new feature ‘International Top-Up’, Ooredoo Money users can recharge any pre-paid mobile number in 140+ countries, buy data products for any operator in 14 countries, and make TV (DTH) subscription payments for selected countries.
Talking about the launch, Manar Khalifa Al Muraikhi (pictured), Ooredoo Director of PR and Corporate Communications, said: “Ooredoo Money is fast becoming the most popular and secure way to send money abroad in Qatar, and this new service will enable expats to not only support their loved ones at home with money, but directly top-up their phones, pay for their television subscriptions, and gift data 24/7.”
Customers can make ‘International Top-Ups’ through the Ooredoo Money app or USSD menu by dialling *140#. To complete the transaction, users need to simply enter the local currency top-up amount and select confirm. The Ooredoo Money app is also available in seven languages (English, Arabic, Hindi, Malayalam, Bengali, Tagalog and Nepali).
