Doha: Represented by the Ministry of Culture, the State of Qatar will participate in the 1st Edition of Nouakchott International Book Fair, which is held under the theme 'desert shelves,' with the participation of 80 various publishing houses.

Qatar's participation is an extension of the State of Qatar's presence in Arab and international cultural exhibitions and forums. Through these events, the ministry seeks to promote cultural exchange and openness to global experiences, thus contributing to building bridges of communication between creators, publishers, and those interested in cultural affairs.

Director of the Libraries Department at the Ministry of Culture and Director of the Doha International Book Fair Jassim Ahmed Al Buainain said that the Ministry of Culture is keen to participate in the 1st edition of the Nouakchott International Book Fair to affirm its commitment to strengthening cultural presence both regionally and internationally, and to highlight the rich intellectual and creative output of Qatar in the fields of literature, poetry, thought, and the arts.

He added that Qatar's pavilion allows visitors to the exhibition to view a variety of literary and cultural publications and gain a closer understanding of the Qatari cultural landscape through books, intellectual works, and artworks.

He emphasized that the Ministry of Culture's participation in the Nouakchott International Book Fair complements the country's efforts to support the Arab and international cultural scene, enhance cooperation with cultural institutions and publishing houses, and present a comprehensive image of Qatar as an incubator of creativity and a center for cultural and civilizational diversity, in addition to promoting the electronic library and the Doha International Book Fair.

The book fair program includes intellectual seminars, poetry and art evenings, in addition to exhibitions of fine art and Arabic calligraphy. It also features a children's section and a corner for signing the latest publications.
