Doha: Tajikistan Prime Minister Kokhir Rasulzoda and his delegation yesterday visited Museum of Islamic Art (MIA).
Rasulzoda toured sections where he was briefed on contents, including Islamic artefacts, relics, a rare precious heritage, books, manuscripts and coins made of silver, copper and bronze as well as articles of glass, ivory, tissue, wood and precious stones collected from the three continents dating back to 14 centuries.
Rasulzoda listened to a presentation on MIA, its construction stages, role in disseminating science and culture and encouraging creativity and communication with arts and cultures of the world.
He also toured the exhibition hall, currently home to ‘The Hunt’ expo which highlights sport hunting as a hobby kings of Islamic countries used to practise since early times.
Following the tour, he signed the honorary record, praising MIA’s contents and collections representing the Islamic civilisation and cultural heritage.
Rasulzoda was accompanied by Qatari Ambassador to Tajikistan Ali Mubark Said Al Mohannadi, Tajik Ambassador to Qatar Qodiri Ardasher and other officials.
