The Qatari-Omani Joint Committee concluded its 20th session in Oman yesterday wherein areas of cooperation between the two countries were discussed. The meeting, which was held in Muscat, was attended by Minister of Finance H E Ali Shareef Al Emadi, who headed the Qatari delegation.
The Omani delegation was headed by H E Darwish bin Ismail bin Ali Al Balushi, Minister Responsible for Financial Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman.
Speaking at the event, H E Al Emadi reiterated Qatar’s commitment to increasing joint investments with Oman in various fields including agriculture, transportation, tourism and other.
The progress of several joint projects were discussed during the meeting, as well as new proposals to increase joint investments in agriculture, energy, communications, transport, tourism, banking and education. During the official visit to Oman, H E Al Emadi met with H E Sayyid Asaad bin Tariq Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for International Cooperation and Special Representative to the Sultan.
A meeting was also held between H E Al Emadi and Omani Minister of Foreign Affairs, H E Yousuf bin Alawi.
