Doha: The Qatar International Center for Conciliation and Arbitration (QICCA) at Qatar Chamber will hold a distance seminar today about the “Current Challenges for Arbitration” in cooperation with ‘Qatar Lawyers’ and the College of Law at Qatar University.

QICCA Board Member for International Relations Dr. Sheikh Thani bin Ali Al Thani will moderate the seminar. The event, which will be held through video conference technology, will discuss challenges faced by arbitration during the outbreak of coronavirus, as well as the future of arbitration after the pandemic ends.

Many experts, arbitrators and lawyers are key speakers of the seminar.

On his part, Sheikh Thani said that the seminar would highlight many important topics related to the spread of coronavirus and its impacts on commercial arbitration.

“It will answer enquiries about holding remote arbitration sessions, the legal requirements for holding sessions through video conference, the confidentiality of information of parties of the dispute and the circulation of the arbitral tribunal,” he added.
