Gen. Dahlan Al Hamad of Qatar was re-elected as the Asian Athletics Association President for the term of 2019-2023 at the 23rd Asian Athletics Congress held in Doha yesterday.

Following his victory Dahlan, who is also the Vice-President of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), yesterday offered his gratitude to all 45 member federations for trusting in his leadership and he vowed to continue his work to take all member federation together to develop and strengthen Asian Athletics.

Thailand’s Surapong Ariyamongkol was elected as the Senior Vice President while Wang Nan (China), Hiroshi Yokokawa (Japan), Mohammad Jumah (Kuwait), Muhammad Akram Sahi (Pakistan) and Andrey Abduvaliev (Uzbekistan) were elected as vice presidents. Eleven individual members were also got elected.
