Doha: During an inspection at Hamad International Airport (HIA) officers seized a suitcase with banned tobacco hidden inside it, according to an announcement by the General Authority of Customs.
On Twitter, Customs shared a photo of 31.85 kilograms of prohibited tobacco that was found hidden inside a suitcase.
It further mentioned that the seized substances were handed over to authorities for further action.
The authorities have been issuing continuous warnings against carrying illegal substances into the country.
Customs officers are provided with all means of support including the latest devices and continuous training to read the body language of passengers and be aware of the latest methods followed by smugglers.
