As part of its continuing humanitarian services to the public, Qatar Chemical Company Ltd. (Q-Chem), in association with Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) conducted a Blood Donation Day recently in Q-Chem clinic at Mesaieed plant.
The innitiative step came as part of Q-Chem’s commitment in participating in such humanitarian, social and national initiatives, reflecting the nobility and cohesion of the society. The contribution supports the programs of the national blood transfusion services in supplying blood donations to Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) across Qatar, and particularly for those patients who need blood transfusion.
Hamad Hospital staff stayed late to allow everyone who wanted to participate to give blood. Some 39 units of blood was collected. The blood units collected has the potential to provide 117 lifesaving units.
Q-Chem’s Chief Executive Officer Nasser Jeham Al-Kuwari said” Donating blood is a noble way to serve humanity, helping save lives and making an invaluable contribution to the lives of those who are in need of blood.
This initiative is part of the company social responsibility, and the strong turnout from our employees highlights our commitment to support community-oriented initiatives that enhance communal well-being. We are honored to partner with Hamad Medical Corporation on such worthy endeavors.”
He added that “Blood donation drive is a part of the framework of Q-Chem’s engagement towards the community and support to all levels of health, environment and sports sectors, amongst others.”
