On-arrival visas should be extended online

Doha: The visitors who entered Qatar on a tourist visa on arrival should extend the same electronically through the website of the Ministry of Interior. This extension service is provided free of charge.

The Airport Passports Department urged the visitors to use this electronic channel to extend the on-arrival visa and not to visit the Airport Passports Department for this service.  

Colonel Mohammed Rashid Al Mazrouei, Director of Airport Passports Department said that the Department had provided the extension service earlier, but now onwards the service has been enabled online through MoI website in order to utilize the newest technology advancement. He noted that if the visitor failed to complete the extension procedure before the expiry date he would have to pay a fine of QR200 for each day of delay.

Earlier the authorities had announced that the nationals of 47 countries listed below do not require prior visa arrangements and can obtain a visa waiver on their arrival in Qatar. These countries include Azerbaijan, Australia, Argentina, Ecuador, Uruguay, Brazil, Vatican, Mexico, India, United States of America, Japan, Andorra, Indonesia, Ukraine, Paraguay, Pakistan, Brunei, Britain, Panama, Bolivia, Belarus, Thailand, Chile, China, Comoros, South Africa, Georgia, Russia, San Marino, Singapore, Suriname, Guyana, Venezuela, Kazakhstan, Canada, Cuba, South Korea, Costa Rica, Colombia, Lebanon, Macedonia, Moldova, Monaco, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Ireland and Peru.
