DOHA: Qatar's state-owned liquefied natural gas (LNG) companies completed their first co-loaded LNG deliveries to two different destinations, Qatargas said on Sunday.
State-owned Qatargas said it had co-loaded the cargoes with majority state-owned Rasgas at the Gulf state's Ras Laffan terminal, on the Q-Flex LNG vessel, Al Khuwair, in an effort to increase flexibility and efficiency of operations.
The cargoes were then delivered to the Zeebrugge LNG terminal in Belgium and South Hook in Britain, it said. The two suppliers had previously been loading separate single cargoes for delivery to single locations.

This innovative method of multi-port delivery of a single LNG cargo from two separate suppliers represents a new level of operational flexibility and supply chain efficiency in the LNG industry. Prior to this, the established practice was to load a single cargo for delivery to a single location supplied by a single seller.
Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, President and Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Petroleum, and the Chairman of Qatargas Board of Directors, said: “We are delighted to have achieved this key industry milestone through the hard work and dedication of the Qatargas and RasGas teams, vessel operators and our LNG customers. This remarkable achievement underscores our commitment to sustaining Qatar’s position as the world’s premier LNG supplier.”
Qatar, the world's biggest LNG exporter, has been locked in a political dispute with four other Arab states since June but its LNG deliveries have not been affected.
