The reigning Asian champions defeated their Italian counterparts Tiziano Andreatta and Andrea Abbiati 2-0 (21-16, 21-14) in their first Main Draw - Pool F match before going down to Spanish duo Pablo Herrera Allepuz and Adrián Gavira Collado 0-2 (19-21, 23-25) in the second match. The Qatari duo, ranked fourth in the world, advanced to the knockout round and will meet Canadians Sam Pedlow and Sam Schachter in round 2 today.
