QSE index gained 102.14 points last week

DOHA: Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) benchmark index gained 102.14 points, or 1.10 percent, last week when the bourse closed yesterday at 9,420.67 points.

Trading value during last week increased by 16.48 percent to reach QR907.97m compared to QR779.53m.

Trading volume decreased by 1.64 percent to reach 31.99 million shares, as against 32.52 million shares, while the number of transactions fell by 4.90 percent, to reach 13,481 transactions as compared to 14,176 transactions.

Market cap rose by 0.82 percent to reach QR512.44bn as compared to QR508.29bn at the end of previous week.

Banking and Financial Services sector led traded value last week with 38.52 percent of the total traded value. Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted for 14.05 percent. Industries sector accounted for 12.98 percent and Telecoms sector accounted 12.89 percent.

Telecoms sector led traded volume last week with 31.17 percent of the total traded volume. Banking and Financial Services sector accounted for 23.13 percent.

Transportation sector accounted for 13.60 percent and Real Estate sector accounted 13.14 percent. Banking and Financial Services sector led traded number of transactions last week with 28.49 percent of the total number of transactions. Industries sector accounted for 20.12 percent. Real Estate sector accounted for 13.26 percent and Telecoms sector accounted for 12.71 percent.

From the 45 listed companies 19 ended last week higher, while 19 fell and seven unchanged.

QNB led trading value during last week accounted for 18.15 percent of the total trading value. Vodafone Qatar accounted for 9.87 percent and Industries Qatar accounted for 7.06 percent, reports QNA.

When compared on daily basis, the QSE index dropped 27.09 points, or 0.29 percent, compared to Wednesday’s closing.

The volume of shares traded decreased to 5.76 million from 6.26 million on Wednesday and the value of shares decreased to QR156.62m from QR235.70m on Wednesday.

From the 47 companies listed on QSE, shares of 41 saw trading today. From these, 15 companies gained, 23 closed lower and three remained unchanged.

Indices of all sectors ended in red zone today. QSE Total Return Index decreased 0.29 percent to 16,598.18 points and QSE Al Rayan Islamic Index lost 0.31 percent to 3,763.29 points. QSE All Share Index dropped 0.24 percent to 2,712.07 points.
