Six rebels die in Afghanistan

Kabul: Six Taliban militants were killed in joint operations launched by Afghan security forces and the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan (ISAF) during the past twenty-four hours in different regions of the country.
Afghanistan’s Interior Ministry said in a statement today that Afghan forces carried out with ISAF several joint operations killing six Taliban militants, injuring five others, and arresting seven others.
The statement added that the operations took place in Kunar, Zabul, Logar, Helmand and Uruzgan provinces.
Blasts kill five  Afghan soldiers 
Kabul: At least five Afghan national army (ANA) service members were killed in the past 24 hours, defence officials said yesterday.
General Zahir Azimi, spokesman for the ministry of defence of Afghanistan, said the Afghan soldiers were killed following improvised explosive device (IED) explosion, the Khaama Press reported.
There has been a spike rise in Afghan national security forces casualties after taking lead in security responsibilities from the Nato-led coalition forces.
According to the defence officials, Afghan army casualties in 1392 were 3.8 percent daily on average basis which is mainly caused due to improvised explosive device (IED) attacks.
PTI moves court over blockade
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) government has approached the Supreme Court (SC) against the Punjab government for blocking the supply of wheat.
An application submitted by the K-P government through Advocate General Latif Yousafzai says that the Punjab government has imposed unannounced restrictions for the past 20 days with regard to the movement of wheat.
The application further states that checkposts have been established, stopping trucks loaded with wheat on routes leading to KP.
