Interior Ministry organises leadership skills workshop

Doha: A workshop on leadership skills development for officers of the Interior Minister, by the ministry’s Trainers and College of Policing in the UK, has started at Leadership Development Centre. 
It aims to assess leadership skills of officers named in the future leaders’ programme 2014-15 to build up their skills in the area of police leadership to prepare them for future leadership positions.
In his inaugural speech, Brig. Badr Ibrahim Al Ghanim, Director of Technical Office at the ministry,  said the ministry is determined to follow scientific and methodological basics to develop human resources and talents to manage the comprehensive growth witnessed by Qatar in recent years. This is in line with the strategy of the ministry following Qatar National Vision 2030, which focuses on ideal disbursement of national cadres. 
He said development projects, being carried out by the centre, will be implemented in three phases. The first phase will identify officers who meet basic leadership qualities and are prepared for self-development.
The second will focus on results of assessment and evaluation to design future training and development workshops in coordination with human resources and other departments. The third phase will include practical events, techniques and follow-ups to develop their career. The workshop ends on May 22. The Peninsula
