DOHA: The Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, also Chairman of the Supreme Council For Economic Affairs And Investment, yesterday presided over the third meeting of (SCEAI) in 2014 at the Emiri Diwan.
It was decided to develop Al Karanaa Industrial Area and fully dedicate it to small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
The Economic Zones Company affiliated to Qatar Authority for the Development of SMEs is to develop Al Karanaa Industrial Area, Qatar News Agency reported yesterday.
The meeting was attended by the Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, also Deputy Chairman, SCEAI.

H E Ali Sharif Al Emadi, also Secretary-General, SCEAI, said in a statement to QNA that the council discussed items tabled on its agenda and was briefed on its previous decisions and measures.
He added that the agenda also included latest developments related to the industry and petrochemicals affairs and projects of Qatar Petroleum International (QPI).
He said the agenda also contained a visual presentation on the development of the banking sector in Qatar, where the Emir directed Qatar Central Bank to work out a strategy and an action plan for the development of the sector to have a greater role in the economic development process.
The council is generally concerned with economic and energy affairs and the investment of the country’s surplus financial resources.
